Charlotte Motor Speedway Parking Guide: Where to Park, Parking Map and What It Costs (2026)
Charlotte Motor Speedway Parking Guide: Where to Park, Parking Map and What It Costs (2026)
Part of Happy Hour Racing's NASCAR Track Parking Guides - the plain-English rundown of where you actually park, what it costs and how you get back out.
The Short Version
Charlotte Motor Speedway parking, in three lines:
- Cheapest lot: general admission parking, spread across five lots on the outside edges of the property. The track does not print the price on its website and says general parking fees can vary by day.
- Pass needed in advance: buy ahead. GA and the Silver and Bronze premium lots are sold through the track's parking page. Most other lots are reserved and tied to your ticket package.
- The one trap: I-85 at Exit 49, Bruton Smith Boulevard. The track calls it the most congested road on race day. Use US 29 or Highway 49 to Morehead Road instead.
Where to Park at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Charlotte Motor Speedway parking wraps around the whole property in Concord, North Carolina. Three roads matter: Bruton Smith Boulevard off I-85, US 29 (Concord Parkway) along the frontstretch, and Morehead Road on the east side. The track's advice is simple. Find the lot closest to your seats on its parking and directions page, which has a Waze link for every lot.
Here is how the lots break down:
- General admission parking - five lots on the 2026 GA map. They sit around zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track, along I-85 and Bruton Smith Boulevard, and next to the Turn 4 Campground off US 29. These are the longest walks.
- Premium reserved, Silver and Bronze - across US 29 from the frontstretch, near the two pedestrian bridges. Silver is paved. Bronze is unpaved. Both shorten your walk.
- Reserved lots tied to your ticket - Smith Tower, Gold Lot and Suite parking right outside Gates 3 through 5, plus Season Ticket Reserved, Water Tower Reserved, VIP Green and VIP Blue.
- Handicap reserved and handicap GA - covered in the accessible parking section below.
What it costs: Charlotte does not publish a parking price on its parking page, its FAQ or its Coca-Cola 600 parking page. The FAQ only says general parking fees may vary per day. We will not repeat third-party numbers the track has not published, so check the price at checkout or call 800-455-FANS (3267).
Do You Need a Parking Pass in Advance at Charlotte?
Plan on it. The Coca-Cola 600 parking page sells two things up front: premium reserved parking in the Silver or Bronze lot, and general admission parking with five lots to pick from. Buying ahead locks in your lot before you leave the house.
The track does not say on its site how much GA parking, if any, is held back for race-day sales. On a Memorial Day weekend crowd, do not count on it. Smith Tower, Gold, Suite, Season Ticket, VIP and handicap reserved parking are all reserved, so you need the matching pass in hand.
One more rule worth knowing: personal golf carts, scooters, bikes and ATVs are not allowed anywhere on speedway property. Your car gets you to the lot, and your feet or the tram do the rest.
Charlotte Motor Speedway Parking Map
This is the track's own 2026 general admission parking map. Yellow blocks are GA parking. Orange pins are the lettered parking entrances, purple circles are the gates, and the green dotted line is the tram route around the track.
Read it like this. US 29 runs diagonally across the middle, right along the frontstretch. Everything below that line, the Silver, Bronze and VIP Green lots and the GA lots along Bruton Smith Boulevard, means crossing US 29. Use the pedestrian bridges. The Turn 1 Campground and Morehead Road sit on the right side of the map, and the Turn 4 Campground is upper left.
Infield, RV and Camping Parking
Charlotte has camping on all sides. The Turn 4 Campground is dry, grass camping for RVs and tents, with a party atmosphere and showers nearby. The Turn 1 Campground is RV only, no tents, and is the closest campground to the grandstands. The Camping World Racing Resort is the only full hookup option, with water, sewer and 30 or 50 amp power. The Family Campground is a family-friendly, no-hookup spot near the Turn 4 grandstands. There is also infield camping, with check-in at Gate 12.
The track says camping at a NASCAR race starts at $205, and premium spots sell out first, so reserve early. Overnight camping is not allowed in the regular parking lots.
Accessible Parking and Shuttles at Charlotte
Charlotte has two kinds of accessible parking:
- Handicap reserved - across from Gate 7, along Morehead Road. It is only sold together with a wheelchair reserved seat. Call 800-455-FANS (3267) to buy it.
- Handicap unreserved - use Entrance T off Bruton Smith Boulevard, the sign in the photo at the top of this page.
The track's FAQ notes that ADA parking fees may vary, so confirm the cost when you call.
Once you are parked, Charlotte runs ADA vans and ADA golf carts. Ask for a pickup at the Information Booths at Gate 7 or the VIP Green parking area. They run on race days from when the gates open until about an hour after the race. All transportation stops for a short blackout right after the checkered flag so pedestrians can clear the grandstands, so expect a wait. If you can ride the regular tram that circles the track, the track asks you to use it instead.
Getting In and Getting Out
The track asks fans to arrive a couple of hours before the race. For the 2027 Coca-Cola 600, set for 6:00 PM on May 30, that means rolling in by 4:00 PM at the latest. Tune to WSOC-FM 103.7 for live traffic reports.
Skip I-85 Exit 49 if you can. The track's own alternates are US 29 from the north or south, or Highway 49 to Morehead Road. The NC Highway Patrol and NCDOT run counterflow on the roads around the speedway before and after the race. The outbound traffic map sends cars back to I-85 by Bruton Smith Boulevard and US 29, and toward I-85, I-77 and I-485 by Morehead Road.
Charlotte does not publish a clear-out time. Plan for a wait, and pin your lot in Waze before you walk in. Using a rideshare? Drop-off and pickup is in the right turn lane of US 29 North at the main entrance. If your car gets towed, call CMS security at 704-455-3214.
