Darlington Raceway Seating Guide: Best Seats, Seating Chart and Where to Sit (2026)

- Best value: Tyler Tower, sections J through P, up high. Stadium seats, the start-finish line and all of pit road in front of you. That is our opinion, not an official ranking.
- Think twice about: the lowest rows of the Wallace Grandstand. You are close, but at a 1.366-mile track low seats cost you most of the lap.
- Shade: none. No grandstand here is covered and umbrellas are banned. The frontstretch does face away from the sun, which is the next best thing.
Seating Chart and Track Layout
Darlington is a 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval, and the shape is the whole story. Turns 1 and 2 are wider and banked at 25 degrees. Turns 3 and 4 are tighter, at 23. The straights are 6. The corners never match, which is why drivers keep collecting the Darlington Stripe.
Per the official 2026 grandstand map, every seat sits on the outside of the oval and there is no backstretch grandstand. Four named stands hold the reserved seats: the Wallace Grandstand low along the frontstretch, sections A to V; Tyler Tower directly above and behind it, sections A to Y; Pearson Tower wrapping the west end around Turn 4, sections A to S; and Brasington Tower outside Turn 1 at the east end, sections E to P.
Darlington states the start-finish line sits in front of Tyler Tower Section M and Wallace Grandstand Section J. The Earnhardt Towers outside Turn 3 are suites, not lettered sections.
Best Seats at Darlington Raceway
Darlington's own FAQ says the best seat is personal preference and points fans to the frontstretch across from pit road, the corners in Brasington Tower, or the renovated Pearson Tower. Here is the honest version. Facts sourced, opinions ours.
Tyler Tower (A to Y, upper frontstretch). The one we would buy. Darlington spent about 7 million dollars in 2018 re-pitching it and adding stadium-style seats with cup holders, and said the new pitch greatly improved sightlines. You get all of pit road, the stripe, and enough height to follow a pass through a corner. Sections J through P sit over the line.
Wallace Grandstand (A to V, lower frontstretch). The closest you can sit without a suite, with bench seats from the same 2018 project. No backs, so bring a cushion. Great for noise, mediocre for watching a race: low rows look through fence at cars you never see coming. If you want Wallace, buy it high.
Pearson Tower (A to S, Turn 4). Larger chairback seats with cup holders went in before the May 2023 race weekend, replacing metal chairs that had been there for decades. A corner view, not a pit view: cars come off Turn 3, run down through 4 and get loose on exit right in front of you, which is where Darlington is won or lost.
Brasington Tower (E to P, Turn 1). The entry-side stand. Section P is closest to the frontstretch and catches the end of the straight plus the run into Turn 1. Section E sits deepest toward Turn 2. Two catches: you are a long way from Victory Lane, and the sun sets in front of you.
General Admission: What You Actually Get
Most fans get this wrong. Sunday's Cup Series race is reserved seating only. Friday and Saturday are sold as reserved or GA, so the Truck Series and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series days are where a GA ticket gets you in. Use that: go cheap on a Friday, work out which grandstand you like, then buy reserved for a future Sunday. Open seating areas vary by event, so check the listing for your date.
Seating Capacity and How the Sections Are Numbered
Darlington Raceway's seating capacity is about 47,000. That figure dates from the renovation that widened the frontstretch seats, trading seat count for comfort. Darlington does not publish a current capacity on its own site, so treat 47,000 as the accepted number, not a 2026 official count.
The numbering rule is simple. Both frontstretch stands start at Section A at the Turn 1 end and letter toward Turn 4. Pearson starts at A nearest the frontstretch and letters around Turn 4 to S. Brasington runs E to P, P closest to the frontstretch. Rows count up from the bottom, and the official map marks a family section in each stand.
Shade, Sun and Weather
Nobody writes this part, so here it is. No grandstand at Darlington has a roof, and umbrellas are prohibited, so you cannot make your own shade either. The track's fan guide says pack a poncho instead and calls sun protection non-negotiable, because pre-race runs in full afternoon heat even before an evening race.
Geometry helps more than any ticket does. The frontstretch runs along the south side of the property, so Wallace and Tyler face roughly north and the sun stays behind you all day. Pearson faces east from the west end, so it is fine too. Brasington faces west, which means the late sun comes straight at you: a squint in the spring, worse for the opening stint of the Southern 500.
Accessible Seating
Darlington publishes this clearly, which is rarer than it should be. For the Sunday Cup race, accessible seating is in Brasington Tower Row 1, the Wallace Grandstand Row 15, and Pearson Tower Row 1, with companion seating on Row 2 in Pearson. Saturday is Wallace Row 15. Each seat covers one wheelchair and one companion, bought through the ticket office at 866-459-7223 or the ticketing portal.
Getting there: Pearson has an elevator at Gate 11, between Sections H and K. Wallace has one at Gate 13. Brasington is ramp access near Gate 26. ADA parking is free and first come, first served at Gate 39B, and the track runs ADA golf carts. NASCAR holds cart activity for up to an hour after the race while pedestrians clear, so plan for a wait.
