Martinsville Speedway Parking Guide: Where to Park, Parking Map and What It Costs (2026)
Martinsville Speedway Parking Guide: Where to Park, Parking Map and What It Costs (2026)
Part of Happy Hour Racing's NASCAR Track Parking Guides - the plain-English rundown of where you actually park, what it costs and how you get back out.
The Short Version
Martinsville Speedway parking, in three lines:
- Cheapest lot: any of the general lots. The speedway says plainly that general parking on Speedway property is free.
- Pass needed in advance: no for free general parking. Yes if you want Preferred or VIP parking closer to the track, which is sold as an add-on with your tickets.
- The one trap: coming from Roanoke on Route 220, VDOT routes you past the speedway interchange to an access road about a mile east. Follow the signs, not your GPS, and expect flaggers holding Route 220 northbound after the race.
Where to Park at Martinsville Speedway
Martinsville Speedway parking is the easiest money question on the NASCAR schedule, because for most fans the answer is zero. The track's official FAQ says general parking on Speedway property is free. The track address for your GPS is 340 Speedway Road, Ridgeway, VA 24148.
The speedway's official parking map splits the property into free general parking and a ring of paid or credentialed lots closer to the grandstands:
- Free Parking - several general lots. The map marks two on the west side along Speedway Boulevard and Speedway Road, one on the north side off Clover Road, and one on the south side below the South Lot, off George Martin Highway.
- Premier Parking - reserved spaces right next to the track, on the north side by the Turn 4 end.
- Family Parking and VIP/Hospitality Parking - on the north side of the property, between Speedway Boulevard and Clover Road.
- Club 47/West, Reserved Suites and Club Panorama Parking - on the west side, tied to those premium seating and hospitality products.
- South Lot Parking and Suite/TV Compound Parking - south of the track, near Turn 2.
- ADA Parking - behind Turn 2. More on that below.
What it costs: free for general parking. For the paid lots, Martinsville says it has Preferred and VIP parking that gets you closer to the track, sold through the parking add-on on its ticket pages. The speedway does not print a price for those passes on its own website, and the add-on page did not show one when we checked. We are not going to guess, so check at checkout or call the ticket office at 877-722-3849.
Do You Need a Parking Pass in Advance at Martinsville?
For general parking, no. It is free and the speedway does not ask you to reserve it.
For Preferred or VIP parking, yes, buy it ahead with your tickets. The premium lots have a fixed number of spaces right outside the grandstands, so they are the ones that can run out on a big weekend. The hospitality lots like Club 47 and Club Panorama come with those packages and are not sold to the general public. The ADA lot is not sold at all. It is first come, first served.
Martinsville Speedway Parking Map
This is the speedway's own parking map. Blue labels are the free general lots, red labels are paid, reserved or credentialed parking, and the green label marks the campground entrance off Clover Road.
Read it like this. US Business 220 runs up the left side. The purple box marks the credentialed parking turn onto Speedway Boulevard, and Speedway Road is marked no through traffic. Route 58 Bypass crosses the bottom right, and the railroad tracks run north to south right past Turn 2. Clover Road loops across the top to the campground.
Infield, RV and Camping Parking
Martinsville does not sell infield parking for fans. Camping is on the hills around the track, with a GPS address of 680 Clover Road, Ridgeway, VA 24148. The reserved camping areas are North Lot, South Lot, Campground Entrance, 3rd Turn, Crossing's Corner, Hillside, Champions Overlook and Backstretch. Tent camping is only allowed in General Admission camping.
The parking rule campers need to know: one tow or companion vehicle per site, with a tow pass that must stay on your windshield. Any extra vehicles go to the overflow area at Lot 8, and anything without the right pass gets towed at the owner's expense. For the fall 2026 weekend, the camping page lists every reserved area as sold out with a waitlist.
Accessible Parking and Shuttles at Martinsville
The ADA parking lot is behind Turn 2, and it is first come, first served. Hang your handicapped parking permit on the rearview mirror before you pull in so the crew can wave you through.
The rules are strict. The person the permit was issued to must be the driver or a passenger. A valid photo ID is required to enter the ADA lot. Both sides of the permit need valid decals, and handicapped license plates with a photo ID work in place of a hang tag. Misusing a permit is a Class 2 misdemeanor under Virginia law.
Martinsville does not run a parking shuttle bus. Getting around is on foot, plus a fleet of free handicap assistance golf carts run by Raceway Ministries. They do not pick up at your parking space. They run from set stops: the ADA lot, the campground, the Main Gate behind the Administration Building, and on Sunday only the Turn 1A, Turn 2, Turn 3 and Turn 4 gates. Carts are busiest two to three hours before the race, when waits can approach an hour, and they stop for up to 45 minutes after the checkered flag. Accessible seating is below the Old Dominion Tower and on the front row of the Bill France Grandstands.
Getting In and Getting Out
On the 2026 fall weekend, the parking lots open at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 7 a.m. on Sunday, with all gates open at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Arriving with the lot opening is the move if you want a short walk.
VDOT runs a traffic plan with signs, message boards and variable speed limits from 65 down to 35 mph on the Route 220 and Route 58 Bypass. From Roanoke, stay on the bypass past the speedway interchange and turn right onto the access road about a mile east. From Danville, follow signs to the back gate off the bypass, east of the track. From Greensboro, watch the message boards and follow police into the right lane. From Stuart, stay on Route 58 east and follow the signs.
After the race, VDOT warns of automated flaggers at the main gate exit and stopping traffic on Route 220 northbound. The speedway does not publish a clear-out time for the day lots. Campers wait longest. The speedway holds campground vehicles about two hours after the race because of the railroad crossing, then you turn left out of the campground to reach 220 Business.
Common questions about parking at Martinsville Speedway
Where do you park at Martinsville Speedway?
Most fans park in the free general lots on Speedway property, on the west side along Speedway Boulevard, on the north side off Clover Road and on the south side off George Martin Highway. Premier, Family, VIP and hospitality lots sit closer to the grandstands.
How much is parking at Martinsville Speedway?
General parking on Speedway property is free. Preferred and VIP parking cost extra, but the speedway does not publish those prices on its website. Check the parking add-on at checkout or call 877-722-3849.
Do you need a parking pass for Martinsville Speedway?
Not for general parking, which is free and needs no pass. You only need a pass for Preferred or VIP parking, a hospitality lot, or a camping tow vehicle.
Is there free parking at Martinsville Speedway?
Yes. The speedway's official FAQ says general parking on Speedway property is free. The parking map marks several free lots around the track.
Where is accessible parking at Martinsville Speedway?
The ADA parking lot is behind Turn 2. It is first come, first served. Hang your permit on the rearview mirror, bring a photo ID, and the permit holder must be in the vehicle.
Is there a shuttle at Martinsville Speedway?
There is no parking shuttle bus. Free handicap assistance golf carts run by Raceway Ministries stop at the ADA lot, the campground, the Main Gate and, on Sunday, the turn gates. They pause for up to 45 minutes after the race.
How long does it take to get out of Martinsville Speedway after the race?
The speedway does not publish a time for the day lots, and VDOT uses flaggers at the main gate and on Route 220 northbound. Campers should plan on about two hours, because campground vehicles are held for the railroad crossing.
The Bottom Line
Martinsville is the rare track where parking is free and simple. Show up when the lots open, park in a free general lot, and walk to the paperclip. Pay for Preferred or VIP only if a shorter walk is worth it to you, get to the ADA lot early, and follow the VDOT signs instead of your GPS.
Parking is half of race day. Our Martinsville Speedway Fan Guide covers the 14 by 14 by 14 inch soft cooler limit, the bag policy and the prohibited items list. Headed to another short track? See the Bristol Motor Speedway Parking Guide.
Lot names, prices and pass rules change season to season and by event. Everything above comes from Martinsville Speedway's own FAQ, maps, ADA, camping and ticket pages, plus VDOT's published race traffic plan. The next Cup race is the Xfinity 500 on November 1, 2026.
