Atlanta Motor Speedway Seating Guide: Best Seats, Seating Chart and Where to Sit (2026)
Atlanta Motor Speedway Seating Guide: Best Seats, Seating Chart and Where to Sit (2026)
Part of the Happy Hour Racing track guide series - where to sit and what you actually see.
Atlanta Motor Speedway seating is simple in one way. The track now runs as EchoPark Speedway, and all four grandstands sit on the same side. So the best seats at Atlanta Motor Speedway come down to which end you want, how high you sit and where the sun will be.
The Short Version
- Best value: Johnson Grandstand, as high as your budget allows. Good view and the easiest sun. Our opinion, so compare prices.
- Think twice about: low rows in Petty. Farthest from the finish line, and by our math it faces the spring sun most directly.
- Shade: very little. Photos show only the top rows of the main stands under the suite level, and umbrellas are banned.
Atlanta Motor Speedway Seating Chart and Track Layout
The official diagram runs from Turn 1 to Turn 4 in this order: Johnson, Champions, Earnhardt, Petty. Trackside Turn One and Trackside Terrace are RV camping, so there is no backstretch grandstand to buy.
Best Seats at Atlanta Motor Speedway
The opinions here are ours. Since 2022 this track has raced in tight packs on 28-degree banking, so height is worth paying for.
Johnson (159-170 and 260-272). Our pick, near the Turn 1 end. Go upper. Tour operator There and Back Again says sections 262-265, rows 40-48, see the whole track and pit road, in individual folding chairs.
Upper Champions (230-259). The start-finish seat and the classic choice. The track added drink rails and extra leg room to selected seats here for 2020.
Lower Champions (130-158). Loud and fast, right across from pit road. Low rows mostly show cars going by.
Earnhardt (118-129 and 218-229). Near Turn 4, looking down pit road. Go upper for the view. Stadium Journey says the second level gives an overview of the entire oval.
Petty (101-117). One deck at the Turn 4 end. Good for cars off the corner, weak for the finish.
Club One. The premium option above Johnson, with theater seating, more than 60 screens and a rooftop deck, per the track.
Video boards. We could not verify a current video board, so do not choose a seat counting on one. Scanner rentals are at the Gate 13 ticket booth.
General Admission: What You Actually Get
We found no general admission grandstand ticket on the official 2027 Autotrader 400 or Dollar Tree 400 pages, so plan on buying a seat. Call 770-946-4211 to confirm.
The Pre-Race Track Pass puts you on track before the green, but you still need a separate grandstand ticket. Infield access requires a wristband from the ticket office, and the price rises a week before the race.
Seating Capacity and How the Sections Are Numbered
Atlanta Motor Speedway's seating capacity is about 71,000, per Stadium Journey and Wikipedia. The track's own info page lists no number, and some references run as high as 125,000, so treat it as an estimate.
The 100s are lower seats and the 200s are upper, and the numbers mostly line up: 118-129 sits below 218-229. Numbers climb from Turn 4 toward Turn 1. Petty is 101-117, with no upper deck.
Shade, Sun and Weather
We found no track statement on covered seats. A 2008 photo shows the top rows of a main stand under the suite level, and the 2019 aerial shows open sky over the rest. Umbrellas are prohibited.
Now our math, not a track statement. The main stands face south-southwest. If the 2027 races start like 2026, around 3 p.m. in spring and 7 p.m. in July, the spring sun sits in front of you and to the right, and drops low by 6 p.m. Petty faces it most directly and Johnson least. In July, the sun comes from your right until it sets around 8:45 p.m. 2027 times are not announced yet.
For a break, the track lists a Tara Ballroom cooling station across from Section 115 on Sunday. Late February can run cold, so pack layers.
Accessible Seating
For Cup races, the track lists rows 26 and 71 in select sections of the Earnhardt, Champions and Johnson grandstands, plus a platform alongside Petty. The elevator to Row 71 is at Stair Tower 8, from the Johnson concourse. Golf carts serve the ADA lot and Gates 12, 13 and 14 before the race. Buy online or call 770-946-4211.
